TRULY TRUTH ? / FALSELY TRUTH ? Will Jean Van de

TRULY  TRUTH ? /  FALSELY  TRUTH ?

Will Jean Van de Velde keep his word ?

That is the question after his comment in Valderrama, regarding the Royal & Ancien’s authorisation for the women to play in the British Open’s qualifying rounds. Jean Van de Velde said that he was ready to wear a kilt in order to playin womens tournaments !

Well, yes we can realy expect that he will do it. His apperance in mid-november at the Hossegor Golf Course, in front of some of the local press and a small golf comitee (amoung which, I was luckily) to our astonishment wearing, a beautiful kilt. He went to play some balls at the driving range without any problems, but on the course he had to take of his waistcoat to feel more confortable.

By modesty and comfort, he will not be abble to respect the tradition of kilt wearing on the course ? (because that « balances » under the kilt during the swing !!!!)
Anyhow he is up for it, and he is quiet sure that his « Crocodile » sponsor will be happy to support him.

Jean Van de Velde had already given his opinion on the subject in the Europeen Golf  magazine (april 2004, p 168). He is, by the way, the only european player to have already played with a woman, Laura Davies, at the ANZ Championship 2004, in Australia.

He was not against it (realy not ?) but to open the debate, he would like men to participate to ladies tournaments. The main problem is that in women’s tournaments it is clearly writtent in the rules that you have to be a woman to participate, but there is no restrictions regarding the sex of players in the mens rules.

Why should women have the right to play in men fields, when it is forbiden for men to play in the women’s ?
So will see…..
Tiger Woods in the field and Michele Wie in her !
